Notes About The Poem

Andrea's Triolet Poetry Contest ~ June 15, 2026

Blush of Dawn: Triolet

I long to ink the sunrise pink
in hues of Dawn's innocent blush.
On the brink of sunlight's first wink,
I long to ink the sunrise pink.
Songbirds are in melodic sync,
trilling as lovely as the thrush.
I long to ink the sunrise pink
in hues of Dawn's innocent blush.

Lin, congratulations on your win with this poem saturated with shades of pink scattered by Dawn - the Aurora. Love your interior rhymes! So difficult to do in a triolet. Love being enveloped by a pink cloud in the morning! Sending blessings for your mornings dressed in shades of pink!

I saw Andreas contest and this is the prompt line exactly that I loved too. And would have written on! But I am not a fan of triolets or refrains. It can be musical, however not everyone can write like youv done here, in a way that the refrain doesnt look too repetitive, but just melodious and so very flawless! This is just absolutely gorgeous! And I think Andrea will love it! Best wishes! Sending you light always dear Linnersz

Thank you so very much for your supportive comments, Ink. It's the line that instantly had me picturing the scene I hoped to paint with my words. I always appreciate your comments and well wishes. ;-)

Hi there! My mind is screwed up somehow. When I first saw the title, my brain said "toilet" and I was thinking what the heck is this? However, it's beautiful and gives me pause and a chance to smile. You have such wonderful talent and provided a pleasurable reading experience for anyone sane! Smiles!!

ummm Duke. Have you been reading Jan's toilet humor lately? LOL You had me checking to see I'd typed 'twilight' and NOT triolet! Thank you ever so kindly for your welcomed words of support.
