Blurry Line

How does that line get crossed?
That thin line between sanity and insanity
What defining moment pushes some over
and yet others remain rational?

Is it simply a culmination of their lives?
Or could it be some deep genetic flaw?

Some face so much adversity and pain
but manage to retain their minds

Others do little but live ordinary lives
and, yet, find their line broken…
allowing thoughts and words to become
unchecked, hateful, confusing, full of lies

Perhaps it lays heavily upon those loved ones
who take the time to see the pain
Those truly devoted ones who wish only
to protect and assist

Why is it that thin line can be so easily crossed?
And why do so many turn away?

Good questions. We are all different and yet, all the same. Different thresholds and breaking points, but we can all break. A blurry line indeed. Well written.
