Blue Monday

I watch the news, Tired and sad, People kneeling on shattered pews, Praying relatives weren’t hit badly. Some were lost, Others gone, Some to safety,,, Others to their homes, Only to be claimed by the beast, That struck Monday morn. Blue Monday, Never to be forgotten, Always in our memories. None who were hurt, Will ever forget, The monster named Katrina, That slew the Gulf Coast, With a single hard blow, On a dark, cold Blue Monday.
