Blue Lagoon

Shimmering crystal clear cyan sea bordered by the rugged coastline rocks where inquisitive lapping waves intrude within old smugglers’ caves and pirates’ secret hideaways. Gentle waters tease the sprawling sand. Dreams haunt the enchanted Blue Lagoon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 13th June, 2014 Contest: Choose your favourite body... Thank you for stopping by, Gerald. I looked up Shimoni and I see that it caters for tourists, although depending mainly on farming and fishing....lovely place. So you come from Kenya, a beautiful country which I would love to visit one day! Regards.....paul

Depends where a person lives. Lagoons are not to be found everywhere. We are lucky to have this special one. England is supposedly full of coves related to smugglers and pirates! Thanks for stopping by Debbie...always welcome. /x/ paul

Hi Sara! Thanks for the lovely comments. Rain water mostly runs off to the sea; some of it is caught in wells and reservoirs and underground catchments. More has to be done to make good use of rain water. There is no marsh land. We depend a lot on reverse osmosis plants which are costly to run but efficient. txs for the interest:) // paul

Thank you Ralph. As a matter of fact many people go snorkeling in the Blue Lagoon. The colour of the water is one of its main features. cu // paul

During the times of the Knights of St. John two of my ancestors used to go on galleys and they often hunted down corsairs who came ashore to plunder and take young women as slaves. Must have been adventurous days! // paul
