‘She loves me she loves me not’ the children's rhyme that had foretold
Blue daisy petals had predicted that Pat would wear a band of gold
Two lovers meet; they take shelter from an April shower
Steve is all set to propose in this woodland secluded bower
Her engagement ring holds a sapphire of bright periwinkle blue
As Steve presents her with the ring he whispers darling I love you
Tiny blue daisies are embroidered on the train of her wedding gown
As Pat glides down the aisle to wed the most handsome man in town
The ceremony goes smoothly they are declared man and wife
Soon they move into their new home and start off their married life
In time Pat gets pregnant, the nine months waiting drives her crazy
She gives birth to a baby girl, of course they name their daughter Daisy!
