Hi Sunshine Smile, A sad but great poem. As for a blue Christmas, Pixie Dust's poem has Mrs. Santa coloring Santa's hair blue - so is blue the secret code to Christmas? Your rendition makes me sad, come spend Christmas with us! Hugs and kisses, Jennifer By the way, my favorite colour is blue!

This was entertaining, reminiscent of many comedy dialogues I saw as a child, and later. Can you bake an apple pie? NO Well, neither can I. I enjoyed this. CayCay

There is no joy in the Christmas you describe, Sunshine, and the holiday probably seems this way to a grief-stricken person. That feeling of "drowning" as darkness descends is well conveyed throughout and your final two lines are a fitting conclusion. Best wishes in the contest, Hon. I always enjoy reading your work and this one is different, but certainly not an exception. I applaud you for taking a step into the dark side... Love, Carolyn
