Blue
Blue is natural in its beauty.
It can be icy like the Arctic
or calm and stately like a spruce.
Blue is deep like the Aegean; indigo,
or cobalt, stark against the snow.
Blue is splendid ink painting twilight skies
or robin eggs, cornflowers and butterflies,
peacock proud or cookie monster loud.
Blue, like denim jeans, makes me smile
or melts me like a blonde boy’s gaze.
