Blue
Blue can be icy like the arctic.
Cold yet passionate in its own way.
A blonde boy’s light blue eyes enticing,
A sleek Corvette hugging the highway.
Blue is natural in its beauty.
Azure or teal seas upon the earth.
Slate of graying days and sapphire nights
Contrasting with sky blue days of mirth.
Blue is calm and stately like a spruce.
Admiral or navy, it is dark;
Deep as the Aegean; indigo,
Or cobalt, against snow, it is stark.
Spring-like and so pretty blue can be.
Robin eggs, bluebirds, a butterfly;
Bluebells and cornflowers bursting forth!
Splendid ink that paints a twilight sky.
Blue, like denim jeans, can just be fun,
Or a cookie monster kind of loud;
Blueberry pop tarts in my toaster!
I love its hue when it's peacock proud!
