Blown Away ( Did the World End Today ? )

Blown Away ( Did The World End Today ? )

Falling in the ashen dusk
Quiet streets are lined
Laying beneath a pinked and rose set sky
Everything painted in the same warm washed hue

And blown away

Far beyond the horizon speaks
Where lonely clouds dream of peaks
Snow and rain and not sun and sand
Offers them a helping hand

As they are blown away

Falling there amidst the green
Fronded palms wave gentle to the sea
The dusking sky with its rim of pinks
Takes hours to breath its sigh cuddles the sun as she sinks

Other realms in windows lit
Reflect upon the playing day
And in the corners were the webs have grown
Dark and subtle words have shown

They were blown away

Blown away

Breezing whisper of dunes and Sahara

All blown away

Blown away

In ribbons the fairy lights of streets
Telegraph messages of silent peace
To rest their tired skipping feet
On the other side of dawn

Tracing the patina of yesterday
Theirs in wisps and sheen of blues and greens
The Earth revolves
So far away

And blown away

What did you say

Blown away

As a kiss the failing light redeems
All and everything
Converging in its blanket breath
And smiles for a moments rest

And blows away

And in the waking the light is cleaned
Each and everything
Has a brand new name
Although they look the same

They were all blown away

And in the waking as the light is cleaned
You and me and everything
Are given a brand new name
Although we look the same

We know we where

Blown away

What did you say

We were blown

Blown away
