Heidi Sands Poet Free verse

Blown Away By the Wind

Must we fight and lash out at each other?
Spinning a blanket of ‘negativity’, 
One that never comforts, with gaping holes
Must we carry on ‘blaming’ one side, then the other?
When both sides have done wrong
   - Division growing deeper  -
While corruption is out of control
Pulling strings all along, instigating…
   - No Accountability  -
Must we let it mold our minds?
Tell us what to think about the other side?
When it turns out being the person right next to you
     - 	A  fellow neighbor  -
Slowly words, ‘Love thy neighbor’ are lost…
Destroyed, going, gone…
     -	As if blown away by the wind  -
