Blood Stained Cross
Blood Stained Cross
From a time so long ago our gain would be our loss.
As blood spilled from His body and stained a wooden cross.
His mother cried as Jesus died her dreams for Him diminished.
Not understanding too demanding Jesus cried “It is finished.”
He’d come to die or so it seemed but also to forgive.
To make a way our final day that we not die but live.
He gave the blind their sight to see while those that see are blind.
Unmoved by His sweet words of love for hardness in their mind.
Saving sinners from themselves He saved a wretch like me.
He cast out demons on the rocks He walked upon the sea.
If you look closely at the cross His blood still sometimes glistens.
Yesterday today tomorrow, He’s here for those that listens.
And now forever and for always as we look up to the skies.
We see the Masters blood and we hear His mothers cries.
For where the storm might rage tonight we hear Him say “Be Still”
As we think of about a blood stained cross and seek the Fathers will.
