Block

Block l see the fog, its everywhere it ties me up, it chokes the air l swim it's sea, and take my share it clothes my arms, and leaves them bare l can't breathe, why cant l leave. l see the road, it disappears my steps it drinks, and then it cheers l run it's river, and feel my fears l touch it's sand, it's grains of tears. l can't breathe, why cant l leave. l see the door, it's open wide it blocks the light, inside my night l see the steps, all up and down, l hold the wall, its prison found. Just breathe, and then l'll leave just breathe, no more to grieve. just breathe just breathe just breathe

We are faced with fog both figuratively and literally seemingly without respite. I was sickly as a child which did help me in adjusting my breathing which is probably why I am 66 and still around. Also I had to deal with entertaining myself though I am not without friends some from way back. Hope you realise how good your poetry is. Regards from David in NZ

hi David, only just found yr comment, l'm not getting my alerts to let me know lv had replies :( sorry lv took so long to respond to yr kind comments. Yes, l wrote this poem when feeling ill (l have severe M.E ) writing helps me to get the feelings out..same with my painting. Only people like yr self who have had similar experiences seem to understand. thank you again. J.
