Blinders
After much delay
And many episodes of going astray
Finally, I put them on
Now, they're snugly and comfortably fastened
Fitted, strapped, and secure are my blinders
Spectators and distractions I no longer entertain
I'm sure-footed, aligned and I own my lane
Ahead. Straight ahead is my field of vision
Nothing to my left, nothing to my right
I'm looking ahead toward that glorious light
Running, running fastidiously to my bale of golden hay
Away, away from the distractions of yesterday
