Blind Panic

Blind panic

There was a warning came one day
It said disaster’s on its way
An old volcano in the distance
It could erupt in any instance

The molten ash came pouring out
As neighbouring village was in doubt
Folk were running to and fro
It seems they had nowhere to go.

Buildings were cracking one by one
Blocking out the golden sun
This thing did turn our day to night
As everyone was filled with fright

As the Earth did turn to lava
Many prayed to the holy father.

This is a very well written poem about disasters. I always say that when they happen somewhere else, we think we are safe, but when they happen close to home we don't know where to run. Thanks for sharing... Lucilla

Vera, I can't imagine anything more frightening than this. I remember seeing artist depictions of old Pompei and pictures of bodies forever cast in stone. You have done an excellent job of re-creating the vision!

Thank you so much for the comment Jim, yes I have been to Italy and seen Pompei and that gigantic Volcano, it would have been terrible for those people, when you look at the volcano all sorts of things go through your mind and imagination is a funny thing, take care my friend.............Vera............
