Blazing Dumpster

Flames licked the dumpster on First Avenue
Firemen arrived, so did the men in blue
Four vagrants were all aghast
Burned to a crisp, their repast
They'd fired up the bin for a barbeque

Duke Beaufort January 15, 2025 at 3:53 PM Lin, a funny and sad at the same time, well composed limerick with consistent meter—which is an accomplishment. It has suspense too (what’s happening really) and that makes me smile! At least it’s not LA that’s being roasted.
