Blackness

Blackness
The before. The during. The after.
The beginning. The middle. The end.
It existed long before us
And will continue to live after us
It is eternal
It is forever
It is existence itself

It is infinite
An unstoppable force
It demands to be seen
It demands to be heard
It won't be ignored
More powerful than any man-made god

You can hate it
But it is here to stay
It exists night and day
It's power - it's presence
It enhances what can't be seen
It humbles itself as not to overshadow
From the beauty far beyond our planets
It highlights each and every star
Gives voice to those that can't
A telescope to things near and far

It's beauty is in its choice of equality
Gives space to the sun to do its job
Whilst being a spotlight to beauties forgotten
It is balance and it is calm
It is the heart of the universe

Black is beautiful
Black is power
Black is eternal
Black is strong
Black is the foundation
Black is the start

Black should be respected
Without it we would fall apart

Black is human
Black is the creator
Black is the heart of every movement

To be black Is to be eternal
To be cut down and still stand tall
To be black Is to withstand it all
To be black Is to be Immortal

The greatest gift of all
Is to be the lucky soul
Who calls blackness their home
