Blackjack Dummy

Casinos are the land of milk and honey.
This absolute fool thinks he has found a knack.
The dummy bets all of his hard-earned money.
He says he cannot lose when he plays blackjack.
There is a bad truth that he will realize.
Sooner or later he is in for a surprise.
He will come home with pockets that are empty.
Just another loser is what he will be.

Robert, my brother in law has nearly destroyed the family he has made with my baby sister by his stupid gambling. This is so true and relevent in today's world. Gamblers are idiots. Congrats on your win. Luv, Andrea

Some people have addictions to gambling, when in truth there is really no way to come out ahead. I can't chastize my wealthy uncle from burning his bucks at the casino tables, but my brother used to spend so much money betting on horses at the racetrack that we feared his six children would starve. Luckily, after enough losses, he reset his priorities. Great poem, Robert! Love, Carolyn
