Blackie Lives On
We had a dog whose name was Blackie,
So extraordinary and wacky,
With energy like a horse,
She used to run with full force,
Soft and playful, but fierce with strangers,
She protected us from all dangers,
She saw every tear that I shed,
Listened to every word I said,
Was our closest companion,
A tough and true champion,
With us, she was there ten years,
When she died, we all shed tears,
I'm sure we will see her in the thousand year rule,
Playing with a dangerless lion, feeling cool.
