Black Widow

A widow who hated to see
her friends doing better than she
spun such nasty rumors
they spread like bad tumors
and blackened her soul completely.

Her friends realized she was not
a soul they could trust, so she got
left friendless for spinning
her lies. For her sinning -
inside her own web she was caught.

My friend, you are correct haters get caught in their own webs. As life leaves them stuck with their own darkness, they blame others and hate even more. Sad.. Congratulations on your in Brenda's haters contest.

Oh, the deceitfulness of envy does trap the soul, as portrayed in this well-spun tale, Andrea. Aptly title poem w/sharp points of wisdom to prick the conscience with. Mighty fine poetry, dear friend. Love and smiles always.

Oh I wouldn't want to meet her. Lol! Sad but there are people who are so heated with hatred in this world. A beautiful piece, and best of Luck in the contest. By the way do you mind if I call you Drea? Hugs and smiles :)

Sad that someone would do that but some people thrive on that..We have a tendency to not think of gossip as being sin but it is and sometimes that is hard habit to break..Thanks for dropping by my page..I have been sick with a stomach thing that was going around but I am better..I hope that your Thanksgiving is awesome..Sara

Caught in a web of lies...and serves her right! I have used the Limerick construction to write poems in rhyme, too, Andrea, and I find it works very well. Regards // paul

I know someone like this, he is the most bitter hypocritical person I know, assumes and slanders and runs around bashing people.

This is so good, I liked the story line, and is true, they often end up alone, and in a way this makes me sad. Great write Andrea!
