Black was the Night
Black was the night he came to us
stars winked and blinked in the sky
he spread his arms in loving embrace,
stopping us in our place.
Eyes blazed with sparkling light
showing us the way to right,
hesitation held our feet
along this path what would we meet.
some said no this is a game
played out by powers beyond our ken
heads nodded in collective agreement
descions hung in midair waiting on consent.
But others consented and followed the path
finding a joy never encountered before
sun will shine filling those with light
watching flowers grow and creatures wild delight.
