Notes About The Poem

- Black Walls In the Tunnel -

Thoughts and words cannot be reconciled
                                       In the tunnel I'm locked
                                         Echo of mortal words
and the footprints of the killer
                                     Spiders and hordes of bats
Although I am inviolable, death is stronger
I can not fight against the power of darkness
                                       in this criminal underworld
Raw and intense - brutal realities

                                       Trapped in my own body
Closes my eyes and disappears into my own existence
                                        I realize the pitiful truth
The sledgehammer hits harder and harder
                                      An ice cold, psychopathic killer
The head and the heart will so gladly accept
                                      this indescribably ruthless pain
The past and the future are killed
I hope the shadows never find me

                                        ____/____ let my soul rest
                                      until we meet again

The past and the future are both killed, genius analogy of looking towards the openings from within the tunnel, as you lay dying, great vision here Anne-Lise, your a dark horse at heart, brilliant, cheers David

Oh so sad and deep, poignant in narrative. Nice take in the contest. Many times, the soul is not strong enough to fight alone the harsh realities of darkness that surround the world.. Best wishes Anne. Hugs ~ Ani

WoW! Anne-Lise, You've penned a good take on the contest theme. It was like reading a horror book or watching a horror movie. Was it a ghost trapped in the tunnel? Nevertheless, it was a good write that held my attention from start to finish. Best wishes in the contest. Have a wonderful day- Alexis
