Black In America

Written By: D. Collins 10/10/23
Ask a black man in America just how he feels?
He’ll say like Ukraine, he’s not down with Israel.
Called refugees after Katrina shows America’s intent.
Where all Palestinian people are now called militants.
We are direct descendants of horrific terrorist acts.
America gives that label to anyone who fights back.
Kaepernick was dismissed right on American soil.
Yet, his taxes go abroad like flowing motor oil.
After ions of oppression why should we care about Jews?
We were the first, if you haven’t heard the news.
Still our struggle continues to this day in time.
Ask a black man in America, what’ on his mind?

WOW! Powerful pen you have. I understand as a black mother of a black son. As a spiritual person I care about everyone and wish pain and suffering on no one. Your voice matters you matter and I respect your views. I feel black people struggles are ignored and that we will always have a harder life. But my humble opinion is we CAN'T become bitter and blind to injustice as ironic tf that is. I'm faving this poem and following your poetry BECAUSE you have a unique voice and talent. Love u black man

It would be extremely hard to keep showing love when something like this happened to you....https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/10/9/whats-the-israel-palestine-conflict-about-a-simple-guide#:~:text=On%20June%205%2C%201967%2C%20Israel,a%20coalition%20of%20Arab%20armies.
