I never met my father's parents or my maternal grandmother as she died when mum was about 8, he married again and when she died he married again so i had a step step grandma, I was always so envious of my friends who had grandparents:-( hugs jan xx

I know the feeling well, Jan. my children did not get to know my dad. They would have dearly loved that chance, I'm sure. Good luck:)

Hi Jan, What a sad and emotive piece. It was so "bittersweet ". This happens often, as one enters the world another is leaving the world. I wish you the best of luck in the contest - Alexis

It was terribly sad mike in fact on reflection he never knew that he was to be a grandfather as I didn't find out I was expecting until the month after he died. Hugs Jan xx
