Bitterness

The robber of peace Leaching into the soul Like a bitter damp cold Seeping into the bones Harboring resentments That long have passed In time, but not memory Its skill is honed Eating away at joy With each passing day Until it destroys All peaceful tones Leaving one’s life Empty and void Spreading its tentacles Out to be cloned

Well said. Bitterness, hate, envy, not being able to forgive...all contribute to a waste of life. // paul

Definately been there and done that. Bitterness is like a rising river if left to go. You expressed it perfectly. Great poem.

When time revisits a long lost friend. It seems like the world will never end. My unspoken kindness can finally be heard. My heart feels much lighter now that you've sent a word. Nice to here from you Debra. This is a good reminder to not let bitterness rule our lives. Thanks for all the catch up comments. Take care.
