Bird Watching
A crow cawing and clawing.
A sparrow darting through the air.
Robins nesting, blue jays resting.
I truly do care.
Watching birds on a warm summer morn,
Remembering the good times, and what she meant,
I know I cannot have her; thus I mourn.
A goldfinch sings its song.
An eagle flys overhead.
A baby chick chirps for its mother.
The things I wish I had said.
The birds fill the sky, now.
But soon they will move south.
I know I cannot have her; I tense my brow.
I will move on someday, this I know.
I won't forget, but I must let go.
