Bill-1
~Bill~
I had a friend and his name was Bill
Who carried the biggest heart of gold
So this is my pledge to always make sure
His story goes on and is forever told
He was entombed within his hurt and pain
Where he generated his internal misery
So the man trapped far deep down inside
Just could never quite break free
I can remember there were so many times
He tried very hard to simply explain
How his heart continuously overflowed
With unbearable endless stabbing pain
Then it grew to a point that he couldn't hide
So Bill and the world began to collide
Soon he was wounded by his broken heart
While he slowly began to fall apart
Bill made a decision that he couldn’t stay
And I still mend the scar left from that day
But he knows I miss him and pray for his peace
He'll be shaking my hand when my souls released
(Dedicated to William Thomas Moore)

This is one of the very first poems I began collecting and putting away to eventually have published. It is the story of one of my best friends.
I actually considered him to be more like family. Bill was a good man~ The shame is, he’s the only one who didn't see this and gave up his life at 34 years old. So with this 1st book being a mile marker for the starting point in my writing, this poem not only needed to be included within its pages but also needed be the beginning page. For without Bill...
