Beyond Their Eyes
They see me stand, but not too tall,
They think I’m small, too shy to call.
They don’t know the fire I keep,
The dreams that wake me from my sleep.
I’m more than whispers in the crowd,
More than a voice that’s not too loud.
They don’t see the road I’ll pave,
Or how I’ll rise, unshaken, brave.
They see the surface, don’t look deep,
But I’m a storm that won’t be steeped.
Underestimated, I stand and rise,
Beyond their gaze, beyond their eyes.
One day they’ll see, one day they’ll know,
I’ve always been ready to grow.
So let them doubt, let them ignore,
I’m destined to open every door.
