when night rolls in
and silence falls
the moon beckons
its haunting call
the wind stirs scents
jasmine and sea
darkness descends
otherworldly
beyond the stars
the cosmos vast
we wonder how
the dice is cast
what is beyond
way out yonder
one knows not what
spell they're under
beyond the veil
of velvet black
hope flickers through
a little crack
