Beyond Myself

I cannot see beyond myself
This pain is all I see
Loneliness surrounds my hollow soul
It will not set me free

Hope has turned his back on me
My dreams are long since gone
My empty heart will beat no more
My thoughts, my heartache's pawn

Compassion will not look my way
Encompassed by screams of sorrow
Betrayed by my will to live
I may not see tomorrow

Regret becomes my only friend
And an enemy my mind can't quiet
Reminding me of mistakes I've made
Though my heart will always deny it

I cannot see beyond myself
My eyes are filled grief
I count the days before I die
This is my only relief
