Beware of the Dog
Beware of the Dog
By Elton Camp
The door-to-door salesman was working a street
Hoping that some interested party he would meet
He saw a sign way up at the end of the driveway
Until he got close he couldn’t see what it did say
“Beware of vicious dog” the sign did sternly warn
Added, “Several trespassers, to tiny bits he has torn.”
Just then the salesman heard a deep, angry growl
The sign he had seen too late so he began to howl
Although the salesman ran just as fast as he could,
It was too late and didn’t do him even a bit of good
The German Shepard over the fence on him too fast
So it turned out that that sales call came to be his last
