Better Left Unknown
I can’t let you see the tears
(as safety I walk in rain),
I must hide from you my fears
(don't let them know I’m in pain).
I can’t let them see my smile’s fake
(the mask hides me so well)
I must not let them see me break,
(if I don't say no one will tell).
I can’t let them know I’m much worn
(so I drug myself inside)
I must not show how I’m torn
(and it’s what I learn hide).
I can’t let them see me dying
(quickly, day by day, more of a disaster)
I must somehow keep up lying
(just waiting for my happily ever after).
