Betrayed

I met my love in early spring.
He soon gave me a diamond ring.
He proved so untrue
As some lovers do.
The ring was just a piece of bling.

A good limerick. It's simplicity is outstanding! Nicely done. Good luck in the contest!

This happens all too often, Joyce. We have to be careful when we offer our hearts -- so many heartbreakers on the prowl. I do see the humor here, but it's dark humor and conveys your message well. Best wishes in Francine's contest. Love, Carolyn

this is very well written. I feel the same way you do that is why I want my name on the cover of a book. Not for the money, but to pass down to my kids and so on. Ill have my book one day.
