Betrayal

Like a mirage, to see
The dreams seem nice
Until, words turn to ice
After believing in thee

Something seems like a sturdy rock
Trusting to be able to stand
Not expecting the other hand,
to bring deceipt with a knock

There are signs along the way,
often easy to ignore
Unwilling to open the door
Then a final blow has the say

As it's not healthy, it's best to leave
For whatever reason was the start
Now, much better to be apart
Time to let go with the chance to grieve

I enjoyed the rhyme and the important message defining when to leave! Powerful Heidi!

That second stanza knocked me for a loop, Heidi. Powerful penning! ~ Gershon
