Beth

I fell hard when we first met Beth , tall, blond hair and blue eyes I was told by her cousin about what she was facing I was asked to show her things which she never came to know Beth is terminally ill her death, imminent by fall I kissed her for her first kiss she shuddered with emotion never knowing how this felt from not having a boyfriend We spent that summer loving making love for her first time which was so gratifying as she enters womanhood At night, we gazed at the stars we named one for her and me I tried to keep her smiling doing things she never did Sadly, Beth lost her battle the day after Thanksgiving I held her gently, we kissed our final kiss, Beth then, smiles and says, "Jimmy, I love you!" "Beth, I love you too, always!" She died in my arms, I cried uncontrollably, which caused this destruction of my heart and crushing my spirit, which keeps me from loving again!
