Best of Me

Depression, I and you shall be Together for all eternity. In sickness you shall be right here In health you won’t disappear We will conquer all, Friend and foe You and I together watch us roam Now let’s find a place to call home. But with you around I can’t work, All our bills will start to grow But you’ll be there no matter what I know that you are my rock Off to the council, Disabled they say That’s a nifty £800 your way Depression, now we have a say As years pass by Depression stays strong I however realise this was so wrong Where did my life go, who’s to know? Depression, why didn't you tell me so Tell me that I would die Tell me that I had to cry Tell me my life would end Tell me that you weren't my friend As a lay in my coffin, Friends do pass Each one looking Behind a mask They know your there, There scared of you see After all that you did to me Depression, now you have to leave So off you go, to the next They won’t know what to expect Al I can say as you leave Is Depression you took the best of me.

Hi Recina, enjoyed this piece. The effects of depression are a terrible thing, to live with. More power to your pen my friend!. Best Regards!.
