Bessie the Cow

Bessie the cow
a prizewinning specimen,
has sadly relinquished
her gold rosette

Ruby red ribbons
of congealing blood
coat the floor
of the abattoir

The silly cow
ignored the bull,
farmer Fred’s freezer
will be full!
