Beneath Skin and Bone
Beneath skin and bone
I can see,
where others are blind,
and I am blessed
to take in
the kaleidiscope of brilliance
that is you.
In trembling night dreams,
I swim your colors,
drowning in bliss,
your strength, your courage,
your tenderness, your passion,
I drink in
to soothe my parched core.
And in day dreams,
my fingers trembling about a pen,
try to explain
what I cannot say.
So for the moment,
all that is left is,
beneath skin and bone,
I can see,
where others are blind,
and I am blessed,
so very, very blessed.
