Beneath Her Skin
There's a bird inside her
that lives just beneath her skin.
When she opened her wings,
I wished she'd let me in.
To her, she drew me, pulling me in!
She left me upside down,
inside out, then right side again!
She made a circle in the sand.
She made a place for me to land.
She, an Angel, made a halo
just for me with her own bare hands.
Forever, covered in the thickest of skins,
I never meant to let another in.
But, It was just too hard to see.
The beauty of the Angel,
had already began to blind me.
There's no escaping, I want her whispers.
I have to find my way, somewhere deep inside her!
Far away,
past the shadows and through the towns-
to that Angel I love, to that Angel, I am bound!
My lips, I placed her. A seat, she rolled.
My hands rocked the rhythms her hips told!
God,
just give me only one sin-
I have to be the bird that lives
just beneath her skin!!!
