Beneath Cool Green Shade

Beneath cool green shade we roil in inner undulations-- a fever of hands, a pox of sunlight glinting high canopies of summer trees. Creeks crackle, clear water molding speckled pebbles as laughter churns cooling shade slipping past memories, holding moments briefly -- white seeds of cottonwood spinning in sun, settling listlessly on a skin of stream.
