Bema Festival

Your bema seat is the sunrise piercing through rain
Your portrait is the morning star breaking through clouds
The lamps lit are the family of stars that reign
Making your art shine like the moon’s face in the crowds

The portrait is like your veil of flesh and darkness
The rainbow colours cannot show your soul we say
Sobriety, kindness, brotherly love and meekness
Are the paints that make this sunny festival day
