Beloved Snow

the path is wet beneath my feet with little frills of ice adorning things all is crystalline, frosty and filigree when, suddenly the air is full of snowflakes enchanting and beautiful to behold for snow has come . . . to be my beloved and I am left breathless and waiting as he floats among the forest trees then, I feel his sweet caresses upon my hair and upon my cheek there is no sound except his silent kisses and I stand still . . . in his loving embrace as he swirls around me my world is quiet and tranquil, serene except for snow's whispering voice drifting, floating, and hovering and I whisper back "I love you" yet, I know . . . that he will leave me and be but a memory melting away. . . ________________________ March 22, 2023 Poetry/Free Verse/beloved snow Copyright Protected, ID 03-1533-511-22 All Rights Reserved, 2023, Constance La France
