Being Judged Contest
Please I am tired of it.
Everyday I hear your comedy bit.
All your friends laugh as you poke fun at me.
Its getting old though, let me be.
Kids can just be so mean.
But this gets worse when I become a teen.
They judge me because I am overweight.
They repeatedly tell me I'll never get a date.
I don't know why they take it to the extreme.
With every word they say, I lose more self-esteem.
I am so nervous, I stutter when I read to the class aloud.
Now I get anxious being in a crowd.
This continued on for several years.
All their laughing, poking and jeers.
Now I have grown up and I am an adult.
But their words still haunt me, like its my fault.
When I meet new people, I wonder what they see.
Do they think I am fat, or are they judging me?
These feelings of insecurity started in first grade.
25 years later, they still haven't begun to fade.
