“Lord, may I always be awake and thankful”
Bless the Lord, O my soul And forgot not all his benefits These words invite us to stay awake To the many blessings that permeate our daily lives There’s great wisdom here Our blessings only fully enrich our lives When we’re aware that we have them Imagine a friend inviting you to a sumptuous home-cooked meal You enjoy it But you missed the love that the meal represents I’m embarrassed to say this has happened to me How much more enjoyable the meals would’ve been if I noticed the love This is true for all the blessings we take for granted Take some time today to be aware of the blessings in your life Really it’s a joyful experience because you discover the beauty of your life Give thanks for it all Even deeper level of joy opens up for you For then You become more aware of how much you are loved
