Being a Fugitive
We, humans, are all fugitives
We run from what life gives
We run from our duties
Even from our responsibilities
We run from our memories
Too harsh they are, those pulsating yet gone stories
We run from our feelings
Yes, for we have problems and issues in trusting
We run from our nightmares
In case they do catch us unawares
We run from our dreams
For the fear of failure does cause our ambition to be all dim
We run from life, by seeking to attain liberation
Why, we do feel suffocated in this mundane prison
We run and we shall keep on running
For humankind is made to accept not what they have been given
We run from our shadows
We run from nature's tornadoes
We run and seek to hide in a made up reality
There where the dark side can be thrown down easily
Fugitives we all are, fugitives, having escaped our past life
But the essence of this world caught us and brought us back
So, never satisfied, we shall keep running
Never satisfied, we shall keep longing
Always shall we aspire to seek perfection
Always shall we aspire to save ourselves from damnation
We shall run and run, and hope of never getting caught again
We shall run, for, as long as we do breathe, we shall want to forget life's pain!
Like the rest, I am running, fleeing, flying even
Ghosts do be at my heels
Ghosts, being by evil, all driven
Ghosts, hoping to break me, being all driven
But against all odds, I choose to dream, I choose to hope
Existence shall give my soul a wider scope
Yes indeed, life can be different, in some other realm
Oh yes, I shall always seek to find such, thirsty for such I do be!
