Behold Death Behold Death in your loving arms. Embrace it as you would the loved one who passed…entering another realm, as they are still hovering near and can hear, see and feel your grieving emotions. You may not be able to visualize them, but may sense their presence. Feel the comfort they are trying to offer by crossing the boundaries of linear time from one realm to the next in the beauty that residing divinely on the other side affords us. We are able to sense their essence of spirit that will remain with us always until we too join them in their existence that has no limitations and is bound only by collective souls living in harmony. Behold Death in your loving arms. 10-13-18 ~Poem of the Day October 15, 2018~ Thank you Poetry Soup Team and Members.

I was drawn to read this by its title--as a young man I was an agnostic until I almost drowned and had an NDE and like your mom realized the reality of my endless soul--and that death is a door, not a wall.

So true. And we have nothing to fear in death, it is but another beginning not an ending. Thank you L. J. It changes our entire perspective doesn't it! xxoo

Gorgeous write! I believe if we open our minds we can commune with those gone on. The universe is a whole cloth made of the quilt squares of each of us.

So true, another fav. You bring up some very good points regarding those who've gone across; they are always with us. Even if one doesn't believe in the soul; there's always the genes.

Such a heartfelt write this is, the most cruel thing about life is that one day we have to die and no one knows what lies after that, perhaps angels and a beautiful place known as heaven, or nothing, not even darkness for we are dead, I absolutely love reading this poem of yours, many congratulations on your poem being chosen as POTD, after writing such a brilliant poem, you deserved it, good luck and have a really nice day

I have faith that our spirit lives on Faraz because of my mother dying in her forties for 8 minutes and the doctors were able to bring her back to life. She floayed to the ceiling and was able to see everything, hear and smell. She had all her senses and she felt she was in such a wonderful peaceful place she didn't want to return to her body. After that NDE (near death experience) she looked forward to leaving when her time came. They can hear and see us. We can talk to them and know our loved ones are waiting to greet us one day. Thank you for your lovely comment. xxoo : )

Death is a very interesting thing. When it comes, I suspect there is sorrow for things we wanted to do tomorrow, but will now miss. So, while it is not something to fear, it is a sad thing. I will miss you, my family and friends and my ability to sense things, but just for the moment of awareness, for then I will be gone forever.

I Connie, this poem made me cry! I held death in my arms, my father took his last breath with myself and my mother. It is a magnificent write. I feel my father's presence very often, and also can smell the tobacco he smoked with his pipe! xoxo, Jennifer.

Thank you Jennifer. I smelled my mother's favorite Gardena flower and I knew she was around visiting. The scent was strong, but only lasted a few seconds before dissipating. I am happy my poem moved you. I am sorry for your loss, but he is still near you watching over you. Blessings, Connie xxoo

Quite a beautiful pen; so many people fear death and its sad. It's actually a celebration of life. At least that's they way I've come to see it.

I agree M.L. it is a part of life, a life that lives on in the next realm. We mourn so because we miss our loved one, but to know they live on is of great comfort. Thank you very much.xxoo

When a loved one leaves this life, to embrace the next. The heart is left holding onto them, in moments and memories. So, in a sense we do hold the dead in loving arms. This is beautiful and emotional, at the same time. Congratulations Connie, on Poem of the Day. ~ Brandy
