Behind the Rain
Darkness descends low in the skies, hiding the brilliant blue
With windows open wide, the sun no longer shines through
Crisp becomes the air, chilling the breeze of a dying smooth
At sudden rest, the earth bows loyally to this natural soothe
Then the story begins; narrated by the roar of thunder above
With every flash of lightning brings forth a nearly faded love
Similar to when life flashes in our eyes upon death’s coming
Singing a faint melody of tears within the wind’s humming
With every raindrop that falls, a world crumbles deep inside
To birth another, freed from the burden of destructive divide
Feeding nature’s undying hunger, renewing every life force
Unwilling to depart without leaving behind this great source
Listen flawlessly for the tale behind the rhythm of rain drops
And the bellow from the sky, calling out to the endless crops
Ignorance is a plague known to draw us away from the story
Bringing the fall of clouded tears, tainting the storm’s glory
Nature will only be patient shortly before comes a drastic act
Hurricanes, tornados, floods; the vengeful measures of impact
The storm will make you listen, or cause much unneeded pain
Now I ask, when nature speaks, heed the story behind the rain
