Behind the Fall
How lovely
is the waterfall,
with ever-vibrant spray,
unleashing torrents of power,
rushing with resilience,
falling with grace
to soft froth
Steady is the pour
that feeds the tranquil pool,
enduring and ensuring
a peaceful flow
over jagged rocks
How captivating
is the silver veil,
holding each gaze
at the surface
For concealed behind
the cascading cloak,
lies a sorrow unseen
dwelling in a deep,
dark reservoir,
bearing the weight
of every drop
How gracious
is the waterfall,
coaxing the very sun
with delicate mist,
to gift a rainbow
to the watchers
A lasting facade,
to keep the ache
masked,
in the brave face,
essential,
to keep the smile
on theirs
But oh, how lovely
the water
falls
