Behind My Eyes
Behind my eyes, I find peace in the quiet
Living alongside my anxiety
When my mind is full of chaos and riot
I search beyond fear’s notoriety
Though I don’t believe in higher being
I can join in prayer with those who do
To imagine what they must be seeing
Is it soothing to have a faith so true
I dream of nature’s hush, behind my eyes
To let it dissolve doubt casting voices
Masked in forest shadows dark disguise
So what if’s no longer reach my choices
Should my eyes deceive, I open them to sight
If worries will not wane, I find peace in the fight
