Beginning the Journey

I cannot go farther with these blistering feet Yet as I stare ahead my heart tells me to go So I go I walk forward and with every step that I take The pain in my soles begin to subside And I glide What once was a frown is now a great smile As I keep going and I can see my goal There my soul Resides in that haven just visible beyond Keep walking, keep walking and you'll make it Just shake it off Shake off that feeling and keep pressing on I'm almost there, i feel it, I feel the sun My journey's just begun

Sounds a little like Edwin Starr's "25 Miles". Good descriptiveness and rhyming. Perhaps you will get lucky and someone in a car will pull over and offer you a ride.
