Before You Judge

You have judged me from lies told
Labeled me not OK
Decided to avoid me
Keep the likes of me at bay
~
You have listened to untruths
Told to many not only you
Yet in silence l remain steadfast
As to myself l stay true
~
Open your eyes and heart
See me for who l truly am
For l am not what I’ve been portrayed
I should not be unfairly damned
~

Ahhhhhh. The judgement that comes from eyes that do not see and from ears that do not hear.... I enjoy your work more and more. Your mastery of the art of poetry is evident in every piece you bless us with. Darrell

Great message in this one Deb. People who judge lose the friendships of many that would benefit their lives. Thanks for sharing this important message through your poetry. Big Hugs, Bill

Hello Deb, the person that judged you is in the wrong. What gives that person the right to judge you? No one is perfect in this world. You want to talk soup mail? Hugs. /Darlene/

Hi Deb. Excellent as this platform is it does at times bear resemblance to social media, and with that comes the niggles that go hand in hand with such. I'm still trying to suss out why a few people have followed me and after I have reciprocated and followed them, they've unfollowed me not long after. LOL! I've adopted a live and let live approach. Life's rich tapestry and all that. . Don't let it play with your brain and just concentrate on the poetry and enjoy. My thoughts only. Cheers - Gary

Back biting, sniping, lies, false allegations or accusations are the domain of insignificant losers; the lonely people who are not comfortable in their own skin. It’s a fact… you can’t please all the people all the time, but if YOU like you then that’s what counts. A clearly heartfelt write. Hope ‘they’ get a new hobby soon.

Oh my, this poem made me feel many emotions, beautiful Deb.. I've been through this path infinite times, where people have judged and labelled the situation for its outer appearance.. One should always look within their hearts and soul, before jumping to conclusions about anyone.. I agree, there's so much resilience and strength in recognising that we can't hold onto people's thoughts, neither we can control them. Let the world say what it believes, we must stay true to our inner conscience.

People should always value a person on face value and not judge from anothers opinion... but such is life... you should not be unfairly damned nor should anyone else.. very true dear poet..

Dear Deb, those who protest loudest and repeatedly do so to cover their guilt instead of admitting it and moving on. I know you were the victim, despite what was cried in opposition. Fingers pointed at you should be turned on the one who is at fault. That old adage. “Talk is cheap,” holds true. Pay no mind to those who talk when they don’t know the real facts.

Ah what a sincere and heartfelt poem i felt so sad reading this, as i know how it feels to be judged and lies being told around to get hate against me. Sigh such is life! But real ones would not judge others based on what they hear, as theres always three sides to every story, but not everyone thinks like that. Sending you light always dear deb. Take care of yourself
